GANGTOK, 28 June: Students and teachers of Namphing Junior High School in South Sikkim observed 10 Minutes to Earth initiative by planting around 100 saplings of Amla in their school premises on 25 June.
Similarly, the villagers of Namphing GPU, along with Panchayat president Bikash Sharma, secretary, Madhu Tamang, officials from Forest Department including Range Officer, Pem Diki Sherpa and others also planted around 800 saplings of different species along the road at Chalamthang, Naya basti and Pabong.
Later, around 500 saplings of Amla were distributed to the villagers of Namphing, Pabong, Naya basti and Kamargaon free of cost by R.O., NTFP, South.
