PLEASE DON’T MODIFY PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST CRITERIA

Letter:
I would like to bring to the notice of the concerned authorities and the Department, my humble requests, appreciations and facts with regard to the following matter. Sikkim Public Service Commission (SPSC) has been conducting various competitive examinations via written examinations, viva-voce and physical efficiency tests. Recently, the written examination for the posts of Sub-Inspector under Sikkim Police Department was held and was conducted by the SPSC.
I must admit and appreciate the way the interview was conducted by SPSC. I would like to place on record my sincere appreciation for the effort put in by SPSC to carry out the written examination and timely declaration of the results. Honestly, SPSC has so far done a great job in the selection procedure.
However, the dilemma and fear always lingers around with regard to conduct of PET (Physical Efficiency Test) followed by Viva-Voce by SPSC. And my dilemma and fear is not unsubstantiated. Few days back, there was selection going on for the posts of constable under IRB (Indian Reserve Battalion) and during the physical efficiency test, the notified criteria was duly overlooked or rather modified. For instance, for the shot-put, the notified criteria was modified/ changed/ reduced irrespective of the fact that lot of the candidates have been practicing in accordance to the notified criteria issued. Hence, even though SPSC has in its Notice declaring the results have notified Physical Measurement Standard and Standard for Physical Efficiency Test, the possibility of alteration/ modification during the actual physical examination cannot be subdued.
In the lines of above, this is to request the Sikkim Public Service Commission (SPSC) to kindly conduct Physical Efficiency Test as notified without any modification/ alteration under any circumstances. It will be judicious and as well as appropriate for all the aspiring candidates like me, who have been practicing and working hard for the Physical Efficiency Test as per the notified criteria.

  2. Fully agree! If they had to modify then why issue prior notification officially?I guess, for such practices, the door of court is always open!
