Minister inaugurates CCTV surveillance at Melli check-post and e-Kiosk at Melli bazaar

GANGTOK, 06 July: Minister Tulshi Devi Rai on Saturday inaugurated the CCTV Surveillance System installed at Melli Check Post and e-Kaksha, an IT Kiosk at Melli Bazaar. Ms. Rai also represents Melli in the Legislative Assembly.
The programme was also attended by Secretary, Social Welfare, GP Upadhya, DIG [Range] Dr. Mandeep Singh Tuli, Superintendent Engineer (PHE), DFO (Wildlife), officials from various departments, Zilla Panchayats and Gram Panchayats of the constituency, an SDF press release informs.
Secretary, Information Technology Department, Rajesh Verma, in his introductory address, spoke on the importance of surveillance cameras at border check-posts.
Programmer, Information Technology Department, Premashis Pradhan, in turn gave a detailed power-point presentation on the CCTV surveillance system and explained the technical specifications of hardware and software deployed at the check post.
Vaishnav Gajmer, Assistant Director, Information Technology Department, next made a presentation on “e-Kaksha”, the IT Kiosk established at Melli Bazaar, detailing that the kiosk will offer many G2C services like e-form downloads, railway and air ticketing, photocopying, passport size photo printing, lamination among other services.

The Minister highlighted the installations as further instances of the SDF government’s commitment to the people.
