EMRS Girls sail into pre-quarters at CBSE Nationals tourney

GANGTOK, 14 Dec: Continuing their victorious run at the CBSE Nationals, Eklavya Model Residential School [EMRS] of Gangyap in West Sikkim girl’s basketball team has entered the pre-quarters in the Championship going on at the Vellamai International School, Chennai.

In its second game in the league, EMRS defeated Kochi 26-02 in reduced time game on Tuesday and made it through to the pre-quarters with another game still in hand. Out of three matches in the pool a team has to win at least two games to make it through to the pre-quarter stage.
An EMRS communiqué mentions that once again the school played well to defeat a strong Kochi team. Kochi had earlier defeated Jaipur in their previous match in the championship while EMRS had defeated Haryana in their first league match.
