GANGTOK, 02 May: Binita Pradhan, an Assistant Professor at the Law College, Burtuk, has been successful in her endeavour to earn a Doctor of Philosophy degree. Ms. Pradhan attained her PhD from Singhania University, Rajasthan, when she successfully presented her thesis.
Ms. Pradhan undertook her thesis on “The role of the Indian Judiciary in protecting the rights of women in India – A critical study”. The viva for her thesis was held on 28 March and she was awarded with the provisional degree on 22 April, 2014. She conducted her thesis under the guidance of Principal, Central India College of Law, Dr. SM Rajan.
Binita Pradhan hails from Sadam, South Sikkim and is the daughter of KB Pradhan and Kamala D. Pradhan. She did her schooling from Paljor Namgyal Senior Secondary School and followed it up with a degree in Law (B.A LLB) from Sikkim Government Law College. Later she got her LL.M degree from North Bengal University. She has since been teaching law at the Government Law College, Burtuk.
