GANGTOK, 28 Apr: Human Resource Development Department, Government of Sikkim, East District organised training for SMDC’s (School Management & Development Committee) under Rashtriiya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMS) today at Modern Secondary School, Gangtok.
SMDC members from all Senior Secondary Schools and Secondary Schools under East District attended the programme.
A press release informs that the main objective was to sensitize the SMDC members about their role and responsibility in the school. The welcome speech was presented by Prakash Pradhan [Joint Drector (E)]. Tempa Targen Bhutia [Joint Director (RMSA)] made a power point presentation on RMSA and requested the SMDC to be actively involved in the overall development of the school.
Further, Basant Sharma [Assistant Director, Duga] addressed the gathering on School Development plan. Durga Prashad Sharma [AD Rakdong Tintek] informed about the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Saakshar Bharat mission. At the end, CS Subba informed about Mid-Day-Meal scheme and requested for proper implementation of the programme.
The vote of thanks was delivered by KT Wangchuk, Deputy Diirector (East), HRDD.
