NAMCHI, 15 Dec: The ruling Sikkim Democratic Front today launched a series of rallies across South District to approach the general public and the youth with the party’s stand against the dissident Upper Burtuk MLA, PS Tamang, and his supporters, alleging that the dissident camp was misleading the people and trying to disturb the prevalent peace of the state.
Today, a rally moved out from Bhanjhyang towards Namchi, attended by Namchi-Singithang MLA, Binod Rai, MLA Melli, Tulshi Devi Rai, Chairman Tea Board, Gagan Rai, South Upadhakshya Himal Tamang, general secretary SDF Central Committee, RN Rai, administration secretary (S), Bal Bir Tamang, joint secretary district committee, Goden Tsh. Lepcha, Cheli Morcha vice convenor, Aruna Mangar, CLC, BLC , WLC members and the party supporters of South District.
The CLC publicity secretary, Dil Kr. Chettri, informed that similar rallies will be held in different places of the district, stressing that the party “will not allow PS Tamang and his supporters to mislead the public and youth”.
“They [the Goley camp] are only intent on disturbing the smooth functioning of the government and derail development of the state. We will not allow this,” he stated.
Earlier, a coordination meeting of party workers was also conducted at Bhanjhyang with the Tea Board chairman as chief guest.
