School building inaugurated at Lingee Secondary School


GANGTOK, 19 Dec: A newly constructed RMSA building was inaugurated here at Lingee Secondary School in South Sikkim by area MLA cum Chief Whip, Ugen T Gyatso Bhutia who was present as the chief guest along with Deputy Director, Ravangla, Kunzang Bhutia present as a special guest.

The building which has been constructed under the Rashtriya Mission Shiksha Abhiyan has a multi-purpose stage and four rooms. The headmaster, SK Pradhan presented the overall performance of the school for the year 2011. Likewise, the Deputy Director highlighted about the different education policies of the government.
In his address, the chief guest focused on the new education system in Sikkim and its advantages. He informed that the priority is being given to education by the government and added that education is the root of all development. He further encouraged people to send their children to school.
Also on the day, students were awarded with prizes based on their performance.
The function was also attended by Panchayat members, KP Pandey, Sangay Pulzer Bhutia, Phurba Tshering, teachers, students and the general public. The function concluded with the vote of thanks by YP Shankar while the welcome address was delivered by MN Adhikari.
