GANGTOK, 27 Aug: Senior members of Sikkim Amateur Taekwondo Association (SATA) will be leaving for Jaipur, Rajasthan on Thursday to participate in the 33rd Senior National Taekwondo Championship 2014 which is scheduled to be held at Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium, Jaipur, Rajasthan from 02 to 05 September.
As per a SATA release, the team consists of twelve men, nine women players and two officials. Rajen Subba, Sabitri Pradhan, Ganga Ram Pradhan, Bijay Gurung, Rabin Rai, Sangay Diki Bhutia, Kajol Chettri and Kirati Nalungma Rai will take part in Poomsae event. Suman Tamang, Phurba Sherpa, Dipen Rai, Susan Chettri, Amit Thapa, Ganesh Rai, Sabina Sundas, Bindya Jairu, Naksum Bhutia, Kunzang Ongmu Bhutia, Pempa Dolma Tamang and Tshering Ongmu Bhutia will take part in Kheorugi event.
Coach SAI Namchi, Deepak Panth has been appointed as the team coach while Preetam Thapa will accompany the team as manager.
Winners of this National championship will be selected to represent India in the forthcoming World Taekwondo Poomsae Championship which is going to be held at Mexico in the first week of November as well as the Commonwealth Taekwondo Championship which is going to be held at Scotland, UK in the third week of November 2014, the release informs.
