GANGTOK, 27 Aug: The Department of Tourism & Civil Aviation, Government of Sikkim organized an Awareness & Sensitization programme for the Tourism stakeholders of Gnathang, Dzuluk and Phadamchen region at Dzuluk, East Sikkim on 26 August.
The programme was attended by Bimal Dawari, Adhyaksha, East District Zilla Panchayat along with President and members of Gram Panchayats.
A press release informs that Tourism stakeholders from Gnathang, Dzuluk and Phadamchen areas of East Sikkim participated in the programme. 125 participants comprising of Lodge operators, Homestay operators, Guides and Drivers of the three locations actively participated in the programme.
The programme saw many interactive activities as well as educational lectures by the resource persons. The main subjects covered in the programme were Ecotourism, Home Stay Marketing and Tourist friendly approach, the release mentions.
The resource persons were Manil Raj Rai [Freelance motivator] and Kalpana Chettri of IHM while the programme was organised by Trekking Officer, Tsewang Ngodup Sharngoe and Permit Officer of T&CA Deptt, Govt. of Sikkim, Sonam Rinchen.
