TAAS provides on-the-job training to school students

GANGTOK, 23 Nov: Travel Agents Association of Sikkim (TAAS) today began imparting on-the-job training for students of Vocational Studies in Tourism.
A total of 109 students from eight schools - Lingdok Sr Sec School, Pelling Sr Sec School, Sang Sr Sec School, Ranka Sr Sec School, Tashiding Sr Sec School, Kaluk Sr Sec School, Chakung Sr Sec School, Namchi Boys Sr Sec School, and Ravangla Sr Sec School - studying Tourism and Travel Management will be receiving the training for one month, informs a press release.
The students will be trained at the different offices of the TAAS members.
TAAS has been providing on-the-job training for the students here for the past few years on the request of the Human Resource Development Department, it is learnt.
The release further informs that this year, the module has been slightly modified and that now the students will be divided into four groups and trained on Tourism Management, Bird watching, Trekking & Camping and Specialised Guide training.
