Citizens’ Urban Cooperative Bank opens branch in Jorethang

GANGTOK, 18 Nov:  The 4th branch of Citizens’ Urban Cooperative Bank at Jorethang was formally inaugurated on 16 Nov by MLA, Salghari-Zoom Constituency, and Chairman, SAABCO, Madan Cintury, informs a press release.
The bank’s Managing Director, NK Pradhan welcomed the chief guest and other invitees. In his address, he informed that the new branch had been rendered functional since 25 Sept 2011 under the Core Banking System from day one, the release informs. He also shed light on how CBS works and about the multifarious advantages of the technology.
The bank’s Chairman, PK Pradhan highlighted the bank’s on-going Branch Expansion programme and its unique Deposit Schemes. He stressed on the need to strengthen the bank’s wherewithal and appealed to all those present on the occasion to invest wholeheartedly in the bank’s Shares.
According to the release, he invited residents from outside the state, as they too, are entitled to exemption from TDS on their deposits with Citizens’ Bank provided they become the bank’s shareholders.
He further informed that the bank’s Deposit Collection Scheme through its Marketing Executives was in consonance with the BF /BC Model formulated by RBI in order to carry forward the objective of Financial Inclusion.
It was a proud moment for the bank to have succeeded in opening its fourth branch at Jorethang this year in terms of the license granted by the RBI, the release mentions further adding that the next branch at Ravangla to be opened next year is almost confirmed.
The chief guest, Mr Cintury and other guests like Chief Administrator, State Institute of Capacity Building, SD Dhakal and Addl, Director (SIRD), HK Sharma also congratulated the Bank on its achievements and future endeavors.
