MANGAN, 10 July: The area MLA Tumin-Lingee, Ugen T Gyatso Bhutia laid the foundation stone for the Chief Minister Rural Housing Mission Scheme at Upper Tintek in East Sikkim yesterday. The foundation stone of the house belonging to the beneficiary, Chatra Bahadur Dahal, was laid by the MLA to formally launch the “Mission Kutcha House Free State by 2013” in the area.
A total of 200 kutcha houses from Tumin-Lingee constituency will be replaced with the CMRHMS for which a total of 62 beneficiaries were provided with allotment order on the day at a function held here at BAC Tintek.
BDO Tintek, Tenzing Dorjee Denzongpa, while highlighting about the scheme informed that the essence of CM’s Rural Housing scheme is that the house should be constructed by the beneficiary themselves with the financial assistance of Rs. 3.50 lakh including the cost of 54 sheets of GCI. The house should be completed within 6 months from the date of receipt of assistance or allotment order.
The first installment of Rs. 50,000/- will be provided to start the work and rest given phase wise as work progresses. Those who complete the house fully within the stipulated time of 6 months shall be granted Rs. 10,000/- as an incentive in addition to the project cost.
The function was also attended by Chief Administrator, SD Dhakal, Zilla Adhakshya (East), Bimal Dawari, ADC Development MN Dhakal, former MLA Norjang Lepcha, BDO Tintek Tenzing Dorjee Denzongpa, panchayat and zilla members of four GPUs and the general public.
