Second Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp for Livelihood School trainees concludes


GANGTOK, 08 Jan: The second “Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp” (EAC) for students of different Livelihood Schools under State Institute of Capacity Building (SICB), Karfectar, South Sikkim concluded on 07 January at the Directorate of Capacity Building, Deorali, Gangtok, informs a press release. Students of Syari and Upper Tadong Livelihood School participated in the camp.

These 15 EACs are sponsored by National Science & Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science & Technology, Government of India and the programmes are conducted by the State Office of Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE), Sikkim. The target of this series of programme is to cover at least 1,125 Livelihood School students, the release mentions.
Branch In-charge, State Office, IIE, AS Dewan informed that the main objective of these camps is to inculcate the concept of ‘entrepreneurship’ in the minds of the youth so that they can be self – dependent, enterprising and contribute to the economic and social development of the state of Sikkim. It is considered as one of the most important issues which can directly or indirectly contribute to industrialization and economic development of the state, the release adds.
A series of fifteen (15) such Entrepreneurship Awareness Camps (EACs) were planned by IIE, Guwahati for the state of Sikkim. The first EAC was conducted at NIS Academy, Gangtok where 78 students of Arithang and Upper Burtuk Livelihood School (East Sikkim) participated, Mr. Dewan added.
