GANGTOK, 08 Jan: Twenty two of the 101 trainees on trade held at Barfung and Maneybong-Dentam Livelihood School for Hospitality Management running under the aegis of State Institute of Capacity Building (SICB) have been placed for on-job-training at different places, informs an SICB release.
The training concluded in December 2011 and 9 trainees have been placed at Shiv Vilash Resort, while 13 of them are placed at Hotel Gold Palace, Jaipur.
The release informs that the trainees were trained in the art of Hospitality with specialization in providing Housekeeping Services, Food and Beverage Services and Front Office Operations. They have been also trained in Soft Skill Communication, Personality Development and working knowledge of Computer.
Recently a Campus Placement programme was held at SICB wherein thirty eight trainees were again selected by Food India Solution Private limited, Mumbai, Maharashtra for on-job-training, the release further informs.
Out of these, nine trainees of Barfung Livelihood School and twenty one trainees of Maneybong-Dentam Livelihood School left SICB for Mumbai today to join their assignment.
Rest of the trainees declined the placement offer as they have decided to start their own enterprises in consultation with the SICB, within the State and some of them have decided to run Home-Stay, Village Tourism in their own area, while some of them want to work for establishments in the state for which the SICB is exploring possibilities to place them suitably, the release mentions.
This has enhanced the figure of SICB achievements on successful completion of Training programme duly fulfilling the State Government policy on skill development of the youth for their livelihood, the release adds.
