Sikkim and WB CMs meet, resolve to collaborate in rebuilding efforts


GANGTOK, 20 Sept [IPR]: On the way back from a visit to the earthquake affected village of Nandok today, the Chief Minister called on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee at the NHPC Guest House at 5th Mile.
Ms. Banerjee arrived here today in the wake of this incident and to take stock of the situation in Sikkim. She also visited various affected areas in and around Gangtok and took stock of the situation. During the meeting, Ms. Banerjee offered her condolences over the deaths in the state. They discussed the present situation and Mr. Chamling thanked his West Bengal counterpart for her visit to the State during this hour of crisis.
Addressing a joint press conference after the meeting both, the Chief Ministers said that Sikkim and West Bengal were brothers and sisters and will work in tandem and cooperation to combat this situation.
