Planning begins in earnest for CM’s Rural Housing Mission


GANGTOK, 20 March [IPR]: A consultation workshop on the implementation of the Chief Minister’s Rural Housing Mission, aimed to achieve Kutcha House Free State status by 2013, was held on 17 March at Janata Bhawan here under the chairmanship of RMDD Minister CB Karki. The workshop was attended by the all Additional District Collectors, the Block Development Officers, senior officers of RM&DD and representative of Forest and Power departments.

The meeting discussed various proposed designs of houses to be offered to the beneficiaries to replace kutcha houses with pucca ones on a budget of Rs. 3 lakhs, financial grant, supervision systems, selection procedure of beneficiaries etc.
The operational guidelines of the scheme were also discussed and finalised.
In his address, the RM&DD Minister urged all officers to work hard and sincerely to achieve the goal of kutcha house free state status for Sikkim by 2013 set and guided by the Chief Minister, informs a press release issued by Special Secretary, RM&DD, Dr. Sandeep Tambe.
