NAMCHI, 06 July: Additional District Collector (Dev) South, DK Pradhan, along with Divisional Engineer (RM&DD, South), BDO Temi, Satyen K Pradhan, Under Secretary Bandana Chettri, other district and block officials inspected the ongoing construction of pucca houses under the Chief Minister’s Rural Housing Mission at Temi block yesterday, informs a press communiqué received from the BDO, BAC Temi.
Under Temi block, construction of 38 houses has begun with ground leveling under MGNREGA. The actual house construction will be taken up by the beneficiaries themselves under supervision of the gram panchayat after the ground leveling work is completed. Some constructions following the completion of ground leveling work have also begun.
The visiting team also inspected some previous MMAY houses, completed and ongoing, and directed the contractors to complete the work in time or face departmental action, the release informs.
The team also visited the proposed land site at Temi, Aifaltar, Rankey and Kamergaon for construction of Community centre, play ground, BDO quarter, Kishan Bazaar, Land Bank scheme etc along with officials from the Land Revenue & Disaster Management Department.
The Gram Prasasan Kendra at Tarku was also visited. The ADC (Dev) suggested the GPU to take up construction of Rajiv Gandhi Sewa Kendra in convergence with BRGF and MGNREGA.
Finally the team also visited the Namphing Gram Prasasan Kendra which was recently upgraded and renovated by the GPU with BRGF fund. The ADC (Dev) inspected the books of accounts and the single window system started by the GPU, where the GPU has recently started providing a unique service to the people for providing official documents within a stipulated time on nominal service charges, the release adds.
