GANGTOK, 23 June: Intergraded Pest
Management [IPM] officials comprising of Joint Director KK Pradhan, Deputy
Director SD Sharma, Deputy Director RK Sharma and Horticulture Development
Officer Diki Doma Bhutia, released Tricho-Cards to farmers in Pakyong Sub-Division
on 21 June.
The said “bio-control agent” is sourced
from the State Bio Control Lab (IPM) at Tadong, a press release informs. The
Tricogramma species is an egg parasite which suppresses the Lepidopterans pest
in the fields.
Tricho-Cards were distributed at Gyanchung,
Dikling, Tsalamthang, Chotta Singtam and nearby areas.
