GANGTOK, 21 Apr: An evaluation meeting of Indian National Congress candidates in this Assembly and Lok Sabha elections 2014 was held today at the Sikkim Pradesh Congress Committee head-office. The meeting was chaired by the SPCC president, Dr AD Subba.
An SPCC press release informs that the meeting discussed various issues and passed a proposal to send a letter of gratitude to the All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi and Sikkim Incharge for the opportunity given to the state Congress committee to field candidates in all 32 assembly and 1 Lok Sabha seats.
The meeting also decided to write to the DGP, SP, CEO and other concerned officials seeking the security of voters, party workers and supporters in case of any rioting or violence after the results are declared on 16 May.
The release informs that the meeting also resolved to continue with its programmes even after the election process was over respecting the people’s mandate.
