North registers 81.38% voter turnout WANGCHUK BHUTIA



MANGAN, 12 Apr: North district saw a total voter turnout of 81.38% today with 22,061 voters comprising of 11,354 female and 10,707 males casting votes for the Assembly and Parliamentary elections.
The district has 25,422 [M: 12394, and F: 13,028] in the three constituencies - Dzongu [7,994], Lachen-Mangan [6,652] and Kabi-Lungtsok [10,776]. There were altogether 44 polling stations in the district with 18 polling stations in Kabi-Lungtsok, 16 in Dzongu and 10 in Lachen-Mangan. 
In Dzongu, 7,165 voters comprising 3,508 male and 3,657 female, cast their votes while in Lachen-Mangan 5,575 voters, comprising 2,632 male and 2,943 female, turned up at the polling stations today. Kabi-Lungtsok saw 9,321 voters comprising of 4,567 male and 4,754 female casting their votes.
After closing the polling stations, all Electronic Voting Machines were submitted to the Zilla Bhawan, where they were sealed and locked in the strongroom in the presence of Returning Officer, TN Kazi, ARO, Raj Yadav and all the Nodal Officials along with all the representatives of different political parties.
The voting process was carried out smoothly and peacefully in the district with no reports of any political misconduct or violence.
