Awareness on marketing held for farmers at Namthang

GANGTOK, 31 Jan: Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Namthang organized an awareness programme on marketing of hill grass (kucho/ broom) and fresh ginger in coordination with NERAMAC at the conference hall of KVK, Namthang on 30 January.
A press release informs that valuable marketing suggestions for the post harvesting season and ideas of marketing were shared with farmers during the programme.
Sr. Zonal Manager, NERAMAC, PC Roy highlighted on the role of NERAMAC and its objective which he said is to purchase the marketable surplus of fruits and vegetables from the growers, make necessary arrangement for its processing and marketing and to support farmers and producers through input supplies for better productivity under the aegis of Central Sector Schemes.
The release informs that around 25 progressive farmers from in-and-around the Namthang area participated in the programme. An interactive session led by Field Officer (Marketing), Rohini Dangal regarding the present situation and problems faced by farmers in terms of marketing was held, the release adds.
