Indo-China Border Personnel meet at Nathula on R-Day


GANGTOK, 27 Jan: A Special Border Personnel Meeting (BPM) was organised with a delegation of Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) at BPM Complex on the Indian side of Nathu La on Sunday, to commemorate the 65th Republic Day of India. The PLA delegation of seven officers was led by a Senior Colonel (Brigadier equivalent).
A press release informs that the meeting was held in a warm and cordial atmosphere and PLA delegation wished the troops of Indian Army on the occasion of Republic Day. The meeting was followed by a cultural programme from both sides.
BPM between the two countries provides a platform for both armies to discuss local issues and enhance mutual trust and assist in maintaining of peace and tranquility along the borders, the release mentions.
