GANGTOK, 27 Jan: The Himalayan Drive-2 , a four wheeler and two wheeler rally will be taking place from the 29 of January 2014 till 01 February. This is the second time that the rally is being organized by the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department in collaboration with Just Sportz Management Private Ltd.
A press release informs that the Gangtok leg of the rally is expected to be flagged off by Tourism Minister Bhim Dhungel on 31 January accompanied by Bhaichung Bhutia as the guest of honour. The flag-off will take place at the Sikkim Tourism Complex at Tadong.
The release informs that the first leg of the rally will be flagged off from Siliguri on the 29 January. The rally will then take the route to Lataguri from where on 30 January it will be flagged off to Gangtok. The participating vehicles will than arrive at Gangtok on the evening of 30 January and will be parked at Tourism Complex at Tadong.
The car rally will go to Darjeeling via Namchi and then on 01 February it will be flagged off from Darjeeling to Siliguri, it is added.
