GANGTOK, 18 Jan: Two cases of Unnatural Death [UD] have been reported from Temi and Rongli police stations on 17 January.
According to a written report filed by Kamal Singh Tamang of Todhay Bermiok stating that his younger brother aged 33 years had gone to the jungle to collect fodder for cattle at around 11 a.m. but when he did not return till 12 in the noon a search was conducted and his body was found hanging from a tree in the nearby field.
While a written FIR filed by Madan Tamang of Bowchen in East Sikkim stated that on 16 January at around 4 p.m. his brother-in-law had gone out of the house and did not return. The complainant and his sister Sunita Tamang enquired about him but were not able to trace him.
In the morning of 17 January, he was found to have committed suicideby hanging in his own cardamom field at Kyonshing Bowchen.
