Rudra Thapa still at large


GANGTOK, 13 Jan: The Sikkim police is still engaged in combing and search operations to nab the last remaining fugitive, Rudra Thapa, who broke jail on 11 January along with 5 other inmates. While the other 5 were nabbed within a day of having escaped the walls of the State Jail at Rongyek here, it is now 2 days that Rudra Thapa is still at large. Incidentally, Rudra Thapa is a murder convict serving a life term for a murder he committed in Jorethang in the year 2004.
Police officials stated that intense combing operations were underway at Ranipool, Singtam and Rangpo and that police had also been alerted at Siliguri and Kakarvitta on the Indo-Nepal border. Rudra Thapa is a Nepal national. He is informed to have been last seen near the Saramsa garden.
