GANGTOK, 04 Aug: Block Rural Housing Construction Committee (BRHCC), Pakyong, under the aegis of the Block Administrative Centre, handed over allotment orders to beneficiaries of the Chief Minister’s Rural Housing Scheme (CMRHM) at special function held at the Pakyong BAC yesterday.
The function was chaired by Tourism and Forest Minister, area MLA Bhim Dhungel, and was also attended by Gnathang-Machong MLA, LM Lepcha, Namcheybong MLA BB Rai, and East Zilla Adhakshya Bimal Dawari.
The programme was also attended by Additional District Collector (Development), East, MN Dhakal, SDM Pakyong, Roshni Rai, officials from different departments under Pakyong Sub-Division, members of Gram Panchayat and Zilla Panchayat.
In the first phase, 201 beneficiaries from six GPUs under the jurisdiction of Pakyong BAC received allotment orders for construction of Pucca house under the scheme.
BDO Pakyong, Dhiraj Subedi, presented the progress report of the scheme, while A.E. BAC Pakyong, Arjun Gajmer explained the structural design of the houses.
Similarly, R.O. Pakyong Range, S.P. Bhutia explained the process for obtaining the marking order for wood to be used for constructions.
The Minister, in his address, expressed happiness over the progress achieved by BACs of Duga, Rhenock and Pakyong in implementing the scheme.
In their addresses, ADC (Dev.) and the Zilla Adhakshya also shared tips for better implementation with the beneficiaries and implementing agencies. The programme was conducted by Suresh Rai, RDA, and ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Binita Neopaney.
