Sinolchu FC felicitates Namchi Sports Hostel's star products

NAMCHI, 17 July: A friendly match was played at the Bhaichung Stadium here yesterday between Namchi’s Sinolchu Football Club and a team comprising of local soccer stars now playing at the national and international levels.
The match was organized by Sinolchu FC as a morale-booster for its players, by providing them a chance to measure their mettle against professionals who have established themselves. Also on the day, the club felicitated young soccer players for making the State proud with their achievements.

Nirmal Chettri and Sanju Pradhan playing for East Bengal, Bikash Jairu and Rabin Gurung playing for the ONGC [Mumbai] and Nim Tshering Lepcha and Ong Tshering Lepcha of USFC, the former its new captain now, were felicitated. Principal New Light Academy, Lopzang Lama was also felicitated on the day.

MLA, Namchi-Singithang, Binod Rai, who was present as chief guest, in his address, applauded the Sinolchu FC’s initiative at organizing this event in the South District. He also announced that a Rs. 35 crore makeover has been sanctioned for Bhaichung Stadium.
The Sinolchu FC president, Arjun Rai, shared that organizing such an event at the Bhaichung Stadium was a dream come true for the club and that it was heart-warming to watch players of the club play with stars like Nirmal and Sanju.

While sharing a few words on their achievements, Nirmal and Sanju thanked Chief Minister Pawan Chamling for his consistent support to their aspirations and for giving them a platform to pursue their dreams. They also thanked their coaches and officials of the Sports & Youth Affairs Department for supporting them in their formative years.
As for the friendly, it ended 2-1 in favour of the guest stars. 
The programme was also attended by Chairman NMC, BT Tamang, JD Sports and Youth Affairs, Kamal Chettri, Ex- Chief Coach Hangu Norden Lepcha, Ex- Joint Director Sports and Youth Affairs, Karma Yougal, District Officers, Coach Suren Chettri, Mayel Lepcha and Members of Drishti NGO.
