Telugu felicitation in Puducherry for Sikkim's class-X topper

NAMCHI, 12 April: Puja Pal topped the class X board exams from Sikkim last year, and while the achievement went largely unreported, nearly a year later, recognition has come her way from a distant land. The Madras Telugu Academy felicitated Puja with the Ugadi Puraskar on 04 April at an official function held at Yanam in the Union Territory of Puducherry. The special function was part of the “Ugadi” [the Telugu New Year] celebrations in Puducherry.
Puja topped the State in the class X 2009-10 board exams. She took the exams from the Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Namchi, and received the Ugadi Puruskar Ghazal maestro Gazal Srinivasan.
15-year-old Puja is the daughter of Jyotsna and Prasanta Pal and presently studying in Class XI (Science) at Namchi Senior Secondary School. She had studied at the Government Girls SSS here from 2006 to 2010 and had secured an overall 9.6 out of 10 in the Class X Board Examinations 2009-10 with 100% in Mathematics, Science and English and 99% in Social Science and Hindi!

The Madaras Telugu Academy has organised felicitations and awards for toppers from all states and Union Territories.
Her father, Prasanta Pal is presently employed as a Science teacher at the NTL Wok Senior Secondary School.
She, along with her parents returned recently from Puducherry weher she was felicitated with Rs. 10,000 in cash, certificates and mementos.
