50 from Lachen-Mangan to receive model houses under CMRHM


MANGAN, 11 April: Fifty beneficiaries from the BPL category and hailing from Lachen-Mangan constituency will be covered in the Chief Minister’s Rural Housing Mission and a model house constructed for them, informed the area MLA, TW Lepcha, at a meeting held here at Singhik Panchayat Ghar today. The meeting was attended by Zilla members, Panchayats and the 50 beneficiaries selected from different wards of Lachen-Mangan constituency.
The meeting was specifically held to announce the sanction accorded by the Chief Minister to extending model houses for the said beneficiaries. This is part of Sikkim's announced mission to become a kutcha-house free state.
The beneficiaries, it was informed, were selected after a survey carried out by the MLA and Panchayats of the constituency and today the CMRHM estimates were handed over to all the beneficiaries and they were directed to monitor the model house construction themselves. They were informed to prepare a 40ft x 40ft plot so that the construction works could be started.
Each model house construction has been sanctioned for Rs. 4,39,700 and two BPL beneficiaries selected from each GPU. The construction is being financed by Teesta Urja in the first phase of implementation.
