Temi drafts Village Development Action Plan after training

NAMCHI, 22 Feb: A 3-day Sub-division level extensive training on Village Development Action Plan was held at Temi-Tarku Block Administrative Centre for Ravangla Sub-division to train supervisors, facilitators and note-takers for the drawing up of VDAPs.
Jointly organised by State Institute for Rural Development [SIRD] and RM&DD, the training was organised from 19-21 February and along with the training, VDAP for Temi GPU also drawn up.

The training started with a briefing on VDAP followed by “Transact Walk” from the BAC to Aifaltar school premises where a resource map and household listing was done, informs a release.
The training included participatory information sharing and planning on need-basis which had participants from each ward of Temi GPU attending for all the three days.
The third day of the training included presentation of the data and findings based on the information shared by the villagers and its validation, the release adds.
The training was attended by Field Facilitators [FF], Panchayat Inspectors, APOs from Ravangla BAC, Temi BAC and Yangang BAC and RDAs, GRSs of each 6 GPUs and other staff of the BAC deputed for drawing VDAP along with Gram Planning forum members and volunteers from Temi GPU.
During the training, DDO South DK Pradhan, Social Development Specialist from World Bank , Dr. Amrendra Singh, State Coordinator, North East Rural Livelihood Programme (NERLP)  DT Bhutia, Assistant Programme Manager, (NERLP) Guwahati, Kishole Das, also visited and took account of the exercise and methodologies adopted for drawing the VDAP, mentions the release.
The training was facilitated by Faculty SIRD, Suraksha Rai, BDO Temi Satyen Kr. Pradhan, Master trainer, Gangtok, Meghna Thapa, APO RM&DD Gangtok, Usha Das, FF Tintek BAC Prem Prasad Sharma, and assisted by FF Temi and Ravangla BAC Uday Chamling and Roshan Kaushik. The trained personnel are entrusted to shoulder the responsibilities of drawing VDAP of each GPU by the end of March 2011.
