Sikkim Nagrik Samaj to hold candlelight rally for slain GJM supporters


GANGTOK, 13 Feb: The Sikkim Nagrik Samaj has decided to take out a candlelight rally in Gangtok on Monday to pay homage to the three Gorkha Janamukti Morcha supporters killed in a police firing at Sibchu [in Dooars, West Bengal] on 08 Feb.
The candlelight rally is scheduled to be taken out at 4:30 p.m. on Monday at MG Marg here.
An SNS press release explains that the candlelight rally was to pay Sikkim’s respects to the sacrifice of Bimla Rai, Vicky Lama and Nita Khawas, the 3 GM supporters killed in the police firing.
Meanwhile, an 8-member delegation of the organization also visited Sibchu yesterday.
The SNS has urged members of different organizations and the people of Sikkim to participate in the candlelight rally.
