GANGTOK, 18 Feb: Members of Denzong Welfare Association have thanked the Central Government for issuing a “clean chit” to the Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje [as national news channels have been reporting for a while now] in the recent controversy and has made an appeal to allow the Karmapa to take his seat at the Dharma Chakra Centre at Rumtek, informs a press release.
“We, the members of Denzong Welfare Association are immensely grateful for the personal intervention of senior leaders of the Union Government, including the Prime Minister Dr. Man Mohan Singh and Chairman of the UPA, Sonia Gandhi for the prompt action taken by them to clear the name of the Karmapa,” the release claims and conveys.
The Association is also grateful to the State Government for its support as well as the people of Sikkim who came out in larger numbers voluntarily for candle light vigils and rallies in support of the Karmapa, the release further mentions.
