SFA welcomes inclusion of two Sikkim clubs in second division I-League

GANGTOK, 15 Feb: The Sikkim Football Association has thanked the Asian Football Confederation and the All India Football Federation for having given provisional entry to United Sikkim Football Club and Denzong Boyz in the forthcoming 2nd Division I-League Football Championship [scheduled to begin in mid-March].

Speaking on behalf of the SFA, its general secretary Menla Ethenpa welcomed the news and conveyed that all of Sikkim was proud of the two clubs. The managements of the two clubs and the SFA have been hard at work for the past 6 months to complete the formalities to make the grade for inclusion in second division I-League, Mr. Ethenpa informs.

With the first window of all-India transfer of players closing today [having started on 16 Jan 2011], two foreign players and one player of Asian origin will also be playing for Sikkim's clubs, the release informs.
Both clubs are holding gruelling training schedules with USFC practising at the SAI Centre in Kolkata under Stanley Rosario as coach, and the Denzong Boyz training at Guards Ground, Gangtok.
