Indian Army takes underprivileged children on excursion

GANGTOK, 03 Feb: The Black Cat Division of Army conducted a three-day excursion for 47 children from Black Cat Boys Hostel, Padamchen and Little Angels Children Home, Algarah from 31 January to 02 February.
A press release informs that the excursion was organized by the Indian Army as part of its endeavor to reach out to local population of the farfetched areas of the country and to motivate children of the area to become responsible citizens of the nation.
During the excursion the children were taken to an Army Helicopter Unit, Jalpaiguri Railway Station, City Centre Mall and Sed-Gyued Monastery. The excursion was flagged off by Brig Vikram Singh at Pedong on 31 January, the release informs.
The parents thanked the Army for organizing the trip and providing exposure to their children, it adds.
