District ASHA Training of Trainers concludes

GANGTOK, 03 Feb: The six-day “District ASHA Training of Trainers” [Round-3] concluded on 01 February here at STNM Hospita’s EU Hall organized by the State Health Society, NRHM, Sikkim.
Addressing the valedictory function, Mission Director, NRHM, Dr. PM Pradhan said “In order to reduce maternal and infant deaths, we need to work together with dedication. Reduction in the Maternal Mortality Rate is very important as it means the safety of both mother and child”.
Dr Pradhan stated that the aim is to reduce Infant Mortality Rate to less than 8% by 2017. He also expressed gratitude all the team members of ASHA and NRHM for their support and contribution
Observer for ASHA cum Retd, Bela Cintury, State Facilitator for NRHM, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare also addressed the function.
24 ASHA trainers from all four districts had participated in the training. During the function, it was also mentioned that, 22 batches of ASHAs and VHSC members will be undergoing a two-month training [February-March].
