Dr. Nelson Mandela, former President of South Africa and a Bharat Ratna Awardee, passed away on Thursday, the 5th of December 2013. The Government of India has decided that as a mark of respect to the departed dignitary, 5 days State Mourning will be observed from 06 December to 10 December 2013. During the State Mourning, the National Flag will be flown at half mast from 6th to 10th December 2013 throughout India and there will be no official entertainment.
