NEDFi sets up Business Facilitation Centre in Gangtok


GANGTOK, 03 June: The North Eastern Development Finance Corporation [NEDFi] Gangtok Branch in a joint initiative with Small Industries Development Bank of India [SIDBI] launched and formally inaugurated its Business Facilitation Centre on 01 June at the Chumbi Residency, Gangtok. A guide book on ‘How to Start Business Enterprise’ was also launched on the day.
A press release informs that the Centre is established for guiding, advising and mentoring the first generation entrepreneurs of the state particularly emphasizing the unemployed educated youth, women entrepreneurs and the growth of MSE sector in the state for the overall economic and social development of the entire region.
The programme was attended by GM and OIC, Reserve Bank of India as chief guest who emphasised on the relevance of such meetings between the Financial Institutions, all stakeholders with active participation from the entrepreneurs and also had participation of all eminent bank representatives and upcoming entrepreneurs of the state.
Branch Manager, NEDFi Gangtok, Nawang Pinsto Bhutia explained the role and function of the Centre and highlighted the importance of such a facility towards economic growth. NEDFi appointed PT Sherpa as the mentor of the Centre who guided and motivated the gathering, the release informs.
Also present at the function was Branch Manager, NEDFi Namchi, Abhishek Lama who apprised the participants with the presence and activities of the Namchi branch and offered help and guidance to the entrepreneurs seeking assistance as well.
