Tadong school runs double shifts to ensure classes continue unaffected by earthquake damage

GANGTOK, 19 Oct: Tadong Senior Secondary school is running double shifts to ensure all classes are conducted without any break.
Due to the recent earthquake, the school had sustained damages with one school building declared unsafe. That building, housed three sections of class IX, four sections of class V, one section of IV and the Hindi class.
Speaking to NOW! Principal, Doma Zimba, informed that since one building was declared unsafe, the school was compelled to run two shifts in order to ensure that the studies were not hampered.
She informed that the school is running the first shift from 7 AM to 11 AM for classes IV and V and the next shift from 11 AM to 4 PM for higher classes. However, she further informed, classes I to III are running as usual from 9:15 AM.
Ms Zimba also mentioned that the construction of sheds is under progress in the school and five more rooms next to school have been taken on rent. She informed that the school will resume normal schedule after the Diwali break. The school has 1,779 students at present.
