Younger sisters from Saraswati Vidya Niketan reach SSB HQ with Rakhis and prayers

GANGTOK, 10 Aug: School girls from Saraswati Vidya Niketan High School, Tadong, tied rakhis to SSB jawans here at the force’s 36th Battalion Headquarter premises today to mark Raksha Bandhan.
Manoj Kumar Singh, Second-in-Command, 36th Bn SSB Gangtok, thanked Krishna Adhikari, the school principal, and Saraswati Vidya Niketan office bearers for the initiative to bring the students to the SSB HQ to ties rachis on the personnel and pray for their well-being.
He also extended thanks to the Dainik Jagran team for providing Rakhis to the unit as part of celebrating the festival.
The visiting students also treated the border force personnel to Gita recitals and patriotic songs.
“In the forces the Jawans always serve far away from their homes and it is not possible for all to go to their homes for celebrating this pious festival. So the presence of these young sisters filled up the absence of their own sisters. With deep reverence and affection in their hearts for these young sisters the SSB Officers, SOs and the Jawans blessed the girls with all good wishes for the life ahead,” the officer conveys.
The function was also attended by Dr. Doma Lachenpa (Asstt. Commandant/ Medical), LN Singh Asstt. Commandant, SI/ GD Ramesh Chand Negi, SI/Min Pravash Khawas other Sub-ordinate Officers and 120 other ranks.
