Tadong School wins Russ Quiz

GANGTOK, 11 May: Tadong Senior Secondary School has won the first Russ Quiz Competition held on Saturday at the Auditorium of Tadong Government College. Governor Shriniwas Dadasaheb Patil attended the function as the chief guest.
78 schools from four districts of the state participated in the competition, out of which six schools made it to the finals. Tashi Namgyal Senior Secondary School,  Tadong SS School, Namchi Public school, Little Flower High school, Singhik Sec school, Vision Academy were the finalists of the Russ Quiz Competition.
The Middle School quiz competition was held for students from class VI to VIII in order to promote competitive spirit among them.
The programme was held in four rounds and was hosted by Dewakar Basnet from 24 Hours Inspired. Tadong SS School won the competition followed by Namchi Public School which defeated Little Flower High School in a tie-breaker for the second position.
Governor Patil advised the organizers to support such events to sharpen the knowledge of young students so that they are able to compete at the national and international level platforms. “We have potential but there is need to give proper guidance to the youth”, he said.

All the participants were awarded trophies and certificates by the chief guest.
