TAAS congratulates Sikkim on topping Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel list

GANGTOK, 30 Oct: Travel Agents’ Association of Sikkim [TAAS] has congratulated the people of Sikkim on the state topping Lonely Planet’s list of Best in Travel 2014 – Top 10 Regions.
Sikkim has come out on top in the list published by the global travel guide ‘Lonely Planet’ on 28 October. Sikkim is followed by the Kimberly in Australia and Yorkshire in England respectively in the top 10 regions to visit according to the travel guide.
In a press release, TAAS president, Satish Barewa has congratulated the efforts of both the Private and Government sector for this recognition and has also requested all stake holders to keep up the good work.
TAAS president also congratulated the people of Sikkim for being helpful and friendly to tourists and for maintaining peace and cultural harmony which are the foremost strengths and USP of Sikkim.
Calling Sikkim “India’s cleanest state with the most innovative tourism project”, the travel guide has credited the state for setting “new benchmarks for responsible travel in the country”.
