South Regu JHS makes unsuccessful appeal to protesting adhoc teachers to resume duty

GANGTOK, 28 Oct: A meeting of the School Managing Committee, Ward Panchayat and Ad-hoc teachers was held at South Regu Government Junior High School, East Sikkim on 25 October. The meeting was called to discuss the loss of classes due to the ongoing strike by ad-hoc teachers.
A press release informs that since the “F.A. [4]” examination will have to be completed within this month and the summative Assessment II also needs to be completed, the strike by ad-hoc teachers is adversely affecting studies.
The SMC and the ward panchayat requested the ad-hoc teachers of the school to return to duty for the sake of the students but the teachers stated that they would not do so until the department and government fulfills their demands. Thus, the meeting concluded without any positive outcome, the release states.
