GANGTOK, 29 Oct: A workshop on social media was jointly organized by the publicity and media cells of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha today here at the party office. An SKM release informs that the workshop discussed the trend of posting defamatory cartoons, videos and other posts on Facebook and other social media by anti-social elements in Sikkim.
During the workshop, various speakers held the ruling SDF party responsible for such activities on social media sites. In the absence of any action being taken by the administration against such activity, SKM has decided to approach the administration regarding the same.
The release informs that social media general secretary, Navraj Gurung, made a power-point presentation on the proper use of social media. Likewise, general secretary Kiran Chettri highlighted the developments in the field of media.
The workshop was also addressed by general secretaries, MN Dahal and Phu Tshering Bhutia and resource person, Bhimlall Pandey and publicity secretary, Jacob Khaling.
