GANGTOK, 29 Jan: Sikkim Lepcha Youth Association organized a Quiz Competition on the theme of Republic Day on 26 January 2015 at T.N.S.S. School auditorium. The programme was part of the ongoing Winter Coaching Class 2014-15 session organized by SLYA and was attended by Sonam Dupden Lepcha (Chairman, Primitive Tribe Welfare Board) as the chief guest.
As per a press release, the objective of conducting the quiz competition was to review the performance of students. Some students delivered excellent speeches on the Lepcha Language and the celebration of 26th January as Republic Day, the release mentions.
There were overall competition among the three sections of Class X and two sections of Class XII, wherein Class X B was the winner of the competition whereas Class XII Economics was the runners up. Cultural activities and counselling sessions were also held on the day.
SLYA has expressed its gratitude towards DT Lepcha, OT Lepcha, Sherap Lepcha and Peggyla Namgyal for their immense support and also all the well wishers for their support.
