GANGTOK, 25 Mar: East District Election Office conducted
training for Presiding and Polling Officers on use of Electronic Voting Machine
(EVM) and their respective roles during the forthcoming general election-2014
at a function held at Chintan Bhawan, Gangtok today.
An official release informs that the day-long training
commenced with the address by the District Collector, East, AK Singh, who is
also the Returning Officer, East. He highlighted the important role of the
Presiding and Polling Officers during the polls and called upon them to
discharge their duties with great care and devotion. Other officials also
imparted training with their power point presentation.
According to SDM, Gangtok, KL Lecpha similar trainings will
be held for another four days at District Administrative Centre, Sichey, the
release adds.
