Two withdraw after all clear scrutiny up North

MANGAN, 27 Mar: Two candidates have withdrawn their nominations in North district after the scrutiny process was held in the presence of General Election Observer, Tshering Angchok and DC North, TN Kazi at the DC Office Mangan today.
Topden Bhutia, who had filed his nomination papers as an Independent candidate from Kabi-Lungtsok and Hishey Lachungpa, who had filed nominations as an SKM candidate from Lachen-Mangan, withdrew their nominations. Mr. Lachungpa had filed his nomination papers along with Sandup Lepcha, the official SKM candidate, who is still in the fray.
Following this, the total number of candidates left in the fray for the three whose nominations have been accepted now stands at ten.
Meanwhile, the candidates were informed of the meeting on 30 March at District Administration Centre, North district.
Following the scrutiny, the candidates in North Sikkim are: for Kabi-Lungtsok constituency Thinley Tshering Bhutia [SDF], Ugen Nedup Bhutia [SKM] and Karma Tashi Bhutia [INC]. Dzongu constituency has Sonam Gyatso Lepcha [SDF], Penzong Lepcha [INC], Karma Samten Lepcha [BJP] and Dawa Tshering Lepcha [SKM]. Candidates for Lachen-Mangan constituency are Tshering Wangdi Lepcha [SDF], Topden Lepcha [INC] and Samdup Lepcha [SKM].
