Sikkim-BJP demands free laptops for private school students as well

GANGTOK, 08 Oct: Welcoming the recent distribution of free laptops to students of government schools and colleges of the state, Bharatiya Janata Party-Sikkim has demanded that free laptops be provided to students of private schools as well.
The BJP-Sikkim president, Padam Bahadur Chettri argued today that there were more students enrolled in private schools who deserve to get laptops too.
In a press conference held here at Tadong, he said that Sikkim University students equally deserve free laptops as well. He also informed that the party has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Secretary, Rinzing Ongmu today requesting her to consider students of private schools from class eight onwards to be covered under the government’s programme to facilitate students with laptops.
