A-Maze winners bag holiday in Bangkok


GANGTOK: The winning team of “A-Maze 2011”- Himalayan Pharmacy College [Mazitar] has received the grand prize of an all expenses paid 5 days and 4 nights holidays to Bangkok-Pattaya.
Sikkim Government College, Tadong, and ATTC, Bardang, came in the second and third positions respectively in the finals held on 02 April.
HRDD Minister, NK Pradhan, was the chief guest of the final round, gave away the trophies and certificates to the winning teams.
“A-Maze 2011”, was an state-level intra and inter-college quiz competition hosted by Q-You!, a quizzing entity of Bangalore-based firm, 24-hours Inspired, with the support of the Sikkim Youth Welfare Association.
The organisers also plan to submit a report on the event to the Chief Minister as well as to the Human Resource Development Department within the next 15 days.

Addressing a press conference, the Chief Learning Officer, 24-Hours Inspired, Diwakar Basnet, informed that the report will also include “IQ Level Map”, the data for which has been sent to Bangalore for generation.
“With this we can know the IQ level of our students and in the report we will also add the recommendations to increase the IQ level in the students which would be very beneficial”, he explained.
Mr Basnet mentioned that in the quiz competition the maximum numbers of the teams reaching the final and semi-final rounds were not regular quizzers but fresh one’s and that was the whole concept behind this competition.
He informed that a total of 2000 students from 12 colleges around the state had taken part in the intra and inter-college competition, which had started on 12 March.
“As we wants more students to get involved in such creative activities by covering all the students from around the state”, Mr Basnet explains.
Quizzers from IHM, Tadong, ELIIM University and Sikkim University were the other teams in the finals.
