Army rescues SNT truck driver from road mishap

GANGTOK, 03 Aug: A Sikkim Nationalized Transport  truck carrying bitumen lost control and rolled down into the valley while negotiating a steep bend on the JN Marg axis near Karponang at Mile 13 on 02 Aug.
A press release from the army informs that the soldiers of Black Cat Division deployed there, rushed to the site, pulled out the driver Santosh Mukhiya, 27, from the ill fated truck and evacuated him to the Medical Inspection Room at Mile 13.
An Army doctor attended to the injured driver and provided essential life saving first aid. He was then escorted by the doctor to the STNM Hospital, Gangtok.
The truck driver hails from Rhenock and works for the Sikkim Nationalised Transport based in Rangpo, it is informed. Prompt and quick response by the troops of Black Cat Division in rescue and evacuation of the driver of an SNT truck saved his life, the release highlights.
